PTA Elections for the 2013-2014 School Year
We Need You! Yes, You!
Please consider volunteering to serve as a PTA officer or board member next year. Parental participation is very important to our school’s continue success. By volunteering, you will be showing your child how much you value their education. The Nominating Committee is taking nominations for next school year’s PTA Executive Board Members. At this time, we have several offices with no nominees and we are counting on you to step up to the plate and volunteer to serve. To exist as a PTA, we MUST have at least a president and treasurer. PTA elections will run in conjunction with SBDM elections on May 3, 2013.

Nominations will be presented at our General Association PTA meeting on Tuesday, April 23.

2013-2014 Parent Representatives for School Based Decision Making (SBDM)
Stonewall is seeking names of interested individuals who would be willing to serve on our 2013-2014 SBDM council. We will be holding an election on Friday, May 3. We need any interested parent who meets the qualifications listed below, to send a written confirmation of his/her interest to run in the election and a single page resume/bio of your background and experience by Monday, April 22. Please email your written confirmation and bio to Crystal Smith at crystal@weesnerrealty.com or leave it in the PTA mailbox in the office. Feel free to email Crystal if you have any questions.
Who can run in this election?
Only parents, who have a current student who will be continuing at Stonewall next year or a parent that has a child pre-registered to attend next year at Stonewall, can run.
Who is a parent?
A parent, stepparent, foster parent, or another person who has legal custody of a student pursuant to a court order is considered a parent and can run for PTA office or SBDM representative.

Help The Mighty Martins make a BIG difference
We are the Mighty Martins. We are kindergarten classmates and friends of Zach, who was diagnosed with Progeria when he was 11 months old. He is now 5 years old. Progeria is a rare genetic syndrome that causes accelerated aging in children. Zach is currently enrolled in a 2 year drug trial which was, in part, made possible by supporters like YOU!
Our goal is to raise awareness of Progeria and raise funds for the Progeria Research Foundation, the only foundation in the world that is COMMITTED to finding a treatment and a cure for Progeria.
The Mighty Martins are selling ZACH ATTACK shirts for $10.00 in order to raise money for Progeria research. 100% of the profits ($ 4.50 of every shirt sold will go to the Progeria Research Foundation.
