Stonewall—We need you ( & your support)!
On Friday October 20th, the Stonewall Elementary students are completing a Sprout-a-Thon. A Sprout-a-Thon is an afternoon of health and wellness filled with 8-10 stations for the children that includes: Gymnastics, Archery, Dance, Tennis and/or Racquetball, Taekwondo, and a variety of other LOCAL businesses that provide activities for children. Students rotate these stations by class and learn about the benefits of each activity. Students get to practice moves, shoot bows, and learn that getting active is both a good choice, and a lot of fun! They grow and Sprout all afternoon!
This event is a day of growth, and an incredible chance for students to try Lexington activities that they may not have yet experienced. Venturing out to complete many of these stations would require time and money – but Sprout brings it to school! In exchange for this great day, and to support Stonewall, students are asked to raise pledges for their day of health and wellness! Rather than asking donors to pledge per lap, shot, or serve – we ask that donors offer a straight donation. We hope you donate to support and improve our school, and to encourage student health and growth! On top of our annual PTA budget, our PTA would love to update technology throughout our school by purchasing more Chromebooks for our students. This innovative tablet will allow our kids access to many textbook and learning apps, Google Classroom, and a myriad of other beneficial educational tools.
For just over two weeks leading up to the event, (October 2nd – October 20th) students are asked to collect pledges from their family, friends, etc. for the Sprout-a-Thon. As a school, we also strive for corporate sponsorship’s from businesses that want to encourage growth! Students can collect the old-fashioned way, or use a PayPal link via our Stonewall Elementary PTA website and Facebook page. For those two weeks we track the money raised, and offer incentives for pledges, strong effort, as well as for the highest students, highest class, etc.
We look so forward to Sprouting in October and hope all out Stonewall families will join us to make this our only necessary major fundraiser this year!
