Volunteer
Stonewall Elementary has a rich tradition of parent involvement in the school and in the PTA. The school and the PTA needs volunteer help for many different committees. Getting involved is a great way to meet other people and get to know the students.
PTA Committees
Please read the following information about committees and volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in helping with or finding out more about one of the committees, please email the contact person for each entry. Committee chairpersons will contact you when help is needed to see if you are available. Scroll down below the form to see the event descriptions.
Art Fair
Hang artwork for your child’s classroom, setup, cleanup, etc.
Entrepreneur Fair/Pizza Supper
Help serve pizza, setup, clean up, etc. This event normally takes place in March.
Food Drives/Clothing Drives
Organizing, publicizing, and collecting food and clothing during drives.
Field Day
Occurs in May each year and is a school wide event. Volunteers are needed in multiple areas such as setting up games, helping to run the games, serving popcorn and other areas as needed.
Fundraising
Help with promotion of fundraising events, collection of order forms, and distribution of items sold from fundraisers.
Hospitality
Set up for teacher luncheons and bring cooked items to school for special events.
Membership
Help take membership applications at school events, assist in filling out membership cards and returning them to parents. Normally takes place the first few months of school.
Memory Book
Assist in taking, collecting, and organizing pictures from class events and parties throughout the year, help with layout, help get yearbook ready for publication, help advertise the sale of the book and taking orders.
Newsletter
Assist with PTA Newsletter that goes home every other week. This involves making and distributing the copies.
Red Ribbon/Drug Awareness Week
Involves working with the school counselor to plan and carry out activities during the week.
Reflections Contest
Annual PTA coordinated contest that promotes a student’s artistic talents. Winners compete at the District and then State level. Volunteers help collect, judge and submit Reflections entries to the District office. Judging at the school level must be completed before November 20th.
Spirit Day
Assist with making and passing out Popcorn to the students on Spirit Day. Spirit Day occurs on or near the last day of each month (during morning school hours). Jenn Crockett.
Spirit Sales
Take orders for school t-shirts and other clothing and spirit items. May involve working a spirit sales table at Fall Events and then helping with distribution of items.
Science Fair
A wide range of volunteers are needed: Judging, registering students, assisting with clean up, donating baked goods and juice for judges.
WinterFest
Help with pre-event planning as well as work the day of the festival. Sell tickets, serve food, work games, work dunking booth, set up and clean up. Event is normally held one Saturday in February.
